I’m passionate about helping clients turn their goals into reality.

I’ve been working as a hypnotherapist in Wigan since 2011 and I’ve conducted hundreds of successful sessions with clients.

At First Step Hypnosis I use a combination of hypnotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy to offer a treatment that is safe, effective and evidence based.

What Happens Once I Book A Consultation?

  • Telephone consultation

    The first stage is always the FREE telephone consultation. This give you the chance to speak to me about what you want to get out of your treatment. It also gives me the chance to complete some initial paperwork to save us time when we first meet. We then agree a time date for your first appointment and I email you to confirm the arrangements.

  • Initial Assessment

    Before your first appointment I send some paperwork over for you to read and complete. You can also watch a couple of short videos, explaining more about this approach to hypnosis, as well as trying a simple 10 minute hypnosis relaxation session.

  • First Session

    During your first appointment you have the chance to talk in more detail about your issues. It’s always really useful to hear a client’s story so that I have a better understanding about how I can help. We usually discuss what tactics and techniques are likely to help and discuss how many sessions might be needed. We then start to practice hypnosis. Don’t worry, I don’t ask you to close your eyes until you are comfortable and know what to expect.

  • Next Steps

    At the end of the session we review how the hypnosis session went. We agree on the number of sessions you might need and book your next session in, usually in 2 weeks time. We agree tasks for you to complete until we meet again. These tasks might include things like monitoring your mood or trying new ways of dealing with your problem. I’ll also send you an mp3 of the hypnosis session so that you can practice until we meet again.

  • Further Sessions

    We usually meet every 2 weeks after that and generally start by reviewing how things have gone since we last met. We can then discuss some new tactics for you to think about and try out. The treatment can be changed and adapted depending on your progress. We’ll do a hypnosis session each time we meet. Sometimes that will involve you sitting quietly with your eyes closed while I offer suggestions or ideas for you to imagine. Sometimes it involves you closing your eyes and answering questions or telling me what you are thinking about or remembering.
